Hello everybody! I’ve been wanting some depressing music. Here’s a list of my top 10 sad song albums for right now. These are not in any order. Send me some depressing songs you have been listening to: satancomics@yahoo.com. And don’t forget…Hail Satan!

1.Eels – Electro-Shock Blues With songs like ‘Elizabeth On the Bathroom Floor’ and the title track ‘Electro-Shock Blues’ it’ll have you wishing for a razor blade.
2.Nine Inch Nails – Still (bonus disc for ‘And All That Could Have Been’) One of the most beautifully depressing, under-rated albums in recent years. If you want some good stripped-down to the bare bones NIN this is it! Mostly piano based songs off albums such as ‘Pretty Hate Machine’, ‘The Downward Spiral’ and ‘The Fragile’ with some new songs. Spin said that piano versions of album songs does not make new material. Oh, how wrong they were.
3. Radiohead – OK Computer This album just feels helpless and hopeless. Curl up with a big bottle of wine and listen in a huge white room for maximum depression. I’ve never actually done that but damn if that wouldn’t make it perfect.
4. Bob Dylan – The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan A rage filled Bob Dylan singing about what he doesn’t like is always a good thing. This album is best heard in a small, cluttered room after being dumped. ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright’ being one of those good songs to cry and sing along to.
5. Lightnin’ Hopkins – The Swathmore Concert ‘Baby, Please Don’t Go’ the starting song let’s you know that this is going to fun, in that blues sorta way. With Hopkins stories in-between songs, it makes it a great live set. I love his story behind ‘My Black Cadillac.’
6. Beck – One Foot in the Grave Songs like ‘Asshole’ and ‘I Get Lonesome’ just make you want to go out drinking with someone…ANYONE!
7. Cake – Fashion Nugget The album I listen to a lot anytime after I get dumped. ‘Sad Songs and Waltzes’ is just a great angst filled song about the woman who done him wrong. And the Gloria Gaynor cover of ‘I Will Survive’ just feels good to listen to.
8. The Counting Crows – August and Everything After One of my first cds ever bought and still around! With songs like ‘Little Perfect Blue Buildings’ it’ll make you that sad guy looking outside on a rainy day stereotype.
9. Nirvana – MTV Unplugged Yeah. This album is half the band’s songs, half covers. Not a huge Nirvana fan but damn if this isn’t great! The Led Belly cover of ‘Where Did You Sleep Last Night’ being the ultimate. Even the band’s songs sound great stripped down to acoustic and Kurt Cobain’s strained voice.
10. Bjork – Selma Songs The soundtrack to one of the most depressing movies ‘Dancer in the Dark’, I had this album long before I ended up seeing the movie and found it uplifting in it’s depressing demeanor.
